I put in the new trays last night. Uneventful, really. Not the easiest trays to put on but not the hardest. But I will say the chewies have been a worthy investment. Before, I'd use my fingers and thumbs to make sure the trays settled down. Now I just use the chewies. And if I'm home, I chew on it after putting the trays back on. It's a lot easier, and feels more effective, to chew on something rather than trying to force them on with my fingers. If you don't have chewies, I highly recommend them. Or something to chew on, anyway!
I will say that today, my teeth were not as sore as I was predicting they'd be. I'm not sure if that can be attributed to the chewies at all, or if it's just how these trays are, or a combination; nonetheless, I ate lunch today. Usually I have been skipping the first lunch after changing trays 1) because my teeth hurt and it can be a pain (literally) to get the trays off in the first 24 hours, and 2) I want to maximize the length of time my teeth are in new trays, since I have the old material and the first 48-72 hours are the time to maximize wear. Well, I decided that I needed to eat and wasn't going to let new trays stop me, and I was able to get them out. It took a little effort, but it worked!
Now for progress... I've noticed that now my top crooked tooth is no longer in front of my front tooth, but is right next to it. I'm so used to the crooked feeling when I run my finger over it, that it's strange how smooth it is between the teeth (well, with trays in anyway). That tooth is well on its way to becoming aligned with the rest of my teeth! It's so cool to see where it used to be and where it is now.
Speaking of, here's my teeth (trays in) as of tonight:
